Kristen Schmidt-Grabowski
OWNER/STYLIST/MAKEUP ARTISTA closer look into Kristen's life beyond her role as a hairstylist, managing Meraki Studio & Meraki Brides… Kristen is married to Matthew, and they share a daughter named Sutton, born in May of 2023. Their fur babies were their first children and remain an essential part of their family. During her leisure time, Kristen enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones. She's also an avid reader and derives great pleasure from losing herself in a good book. Finally, vacationing tops her list of favorite activities, with warm-weather destinations being her preferred choice.

With 17 years of experience in the beauty industry, Kristen has always aimed to recreate the same positive salon experience she cherished as a young adult. After working at various salons in the area, she realized her dream of opening a boutique salon, Meraki Studio, in 2017.
As an extension, she launched Meraki Brides, a traveling hair and makeup team catering to brides on their special day. Kristen is passionate about continually educating herself, honing her skills as a hairstylist, makeup artist, and businesswoman. Her areas of expertise include lived-in color, blonding, and Harper Ellis extensions.
Jamie Stamper
HAIR STYLISTI'm Jamie (she/her) and I really appreciate you stopping by! I am an Edwardsville native serving the local community. I have been a stylist for 13+ years and I'm more passionate now about my craft than ever! I specialize in craft haircuts, color with less chemicals, and scalp facial rituals. These rituals help to stimulate growth, detox the skin, circulate blood flow, and encourage a healthy environment. As a craft hairdresser, I am highly proficient in ALL hair textures and use an array of techniques, as well as an intuitive cutting method. I seek ongoing education for technique, formulation, non-toxic ingredients, and sustainable practices.
While I know there are a large variety of salons and hairstylists to choose from in the area, I set myself apart by choosing to do things a little differently. I look at hairdressing through a holistic and earth-friendly lens. I use handcrafted, organic, vegan, and earth(and people)-loving products; whose companies stand for change. With so many unrealistic beauty standards out there, I choose to encourage what works best for each individual. I strive to provide a relaxing, non-judging environment that encourages self-expression and nourishes connection. I do my best to offer a respectful, all-welcoming & affirming environment.
